Cedar is a UK brand specialising in bespoke home fragrances and modern approaches to aromatherapy. Whether it’s an inner space or a distant place, our crafted scents will move your mind.

Story

Hello! I’m Lizzy. Cedar has been my brand, baby and occupation since 2018. Cedar has always been about the transportive power of scent. It started out as a side project to take my mind off the stresses of working as a schoolteacher. They evoked memories, places I’d been, places I wanted to go. Sometimes they took me to a more relaxed and balanced frame of mind.


Fast forward to today and I’m now a qualified aromatherapist working from a studio in Manchester. I’ve been stocked in over 30 independent shops, been featured in Vogue, Elle and the Guardian, worked with the likes of Selfridges and Chanel and raised thousands for charity, but inventing new and wonderful scents still takes me to my happy place.

Craft

I design all the Cedar fragrances using a range of scented blends that combine essential oils, natural isolates and sustainable perfume materials. My approach is rooted in functional fragrance—combining the artistry of scent creation with the science of aromatherapy.


I make candles and wax melts and bespoke oil blends for diffusers, baths and burners, as well as various other treats.


Because every Cedar product passes through my hands, I can guarantee a beautifully crafted product that will always be designed to improve your mood and move your mind.

Responsibility

Cedar candles are vegan friendly and hand-poured in small batches using a rapeseed and coconut wax blend. This is a more sustainable alternative to soy wax that burns more cleanly and slowly too.


The packaging is plastic-free and recyclable, and I offer a refill scheme so you can order a new wax block for your jar whenever your candle runs out. It’s a simple formula really. Burn, rinse, repeat.
